Welcome to the first in a (possible) series of only semi-humorous articles aiming to deconstruct absolutely abysmal motivational, insipidly inspirational, or simply badly misconstrued and impractical philosophical quotes that have been cherry picked for clicks in today’s influencer driven faux-wellbeing movement.
Introduction done, let’s kick off with #1 spotted on a well known Twitter account that specialises in tweeting ambivalent drivel for self-amplication.

I get the feeling I’m talking to an influencer here, standing half submerged in a sunlight dappled ocean staring off, with a smug expression, into a distant sea framed sunset.
I can even see the waves gentle rippling, lapping at their thighs, and get a pain in the eyes from the flickering sunlight almost immediately.
They might be sipping a cocktail, head tilted to one side, half smiling in the knowledge that they’re the better person — and can afford to stand in expensive swimwear, at an obviously expensive beach resort, that their followers are paying for with their clicks.
