Definitely, very definitely, there needs to be a culling of the destructive dead wood who hang around the tech industry purely to preach process and obfuscate anything they can get their hands on.

You're absolutely right, people leave to build things - part from wanting to work from themselves and, I'm sure, partly out of sheer frustration with the status quo.
