Emphasising the dramatic effect remote working has on the amount of pointless and unpaid time spent commuting always makes people think that it's not just about working in your pyjamas.

The effect, also, it has on your own life - the tiredness, frustration, and tedium that seeps through from endless commuting.

You're absolutely right, we do put in more hours - efficiency gains are well documented - but it's the tired doctrine of control that keeps coming back, trying to herd us all up like good little sheep in the office pen just so's the sheepdogs have something to do.

Great article, always excellent to get a personal perspective - we need to get people to think.
