I can see both sides, to be completely honest.

As a Generation X person myself life has been a roller coaster of dreadful hard work, laughably easy times, and everything in-between. Everything from seeing how hard it was for the previous generation, McJobs, end of the career (thankfully), and the destruction of the ability to basically succeed financially at all.

There's no reason why life shouldn't be easier and I can empathises when we try to hold more modern generations to our own subjective standards.

Perhaps there's a happy medium (no pun intended) or perhaps they're just right and we're talking it all too seriously and putting up with too many things out of our own habits. Life shouldn't be gruellingly hard.
