I generally mean (and please only take me half seriously here) that if you’re writing something for one browser based application you can easily transfer your skills over to another as your ecosystem (Internet Explorer excepted for obvious reasons) is pretty much the same.

Much of what we do as software engineers tends to fit in with existing systems, so some skills are more transferrable than others.
