I got into a heated debate recently around the idea that performance reviews, the annual charade that they are, should be done quarterly only if pay increases followed the same cadence.

It's only fair, surely, to adjust pay more often if we have to go through the tedious process every quarter - and no-one remembers what anyone did more than a few days after it happened anyway.

Apparently I was being "confrontational" - something of a compliment I think!
