I hope to detail some of my own ideas with software development methodology (when I run out of interesting things to write)…

But, seriously, for one thing people label waterfall as bad but it does have a place where there are strict requirements and milestones. Indeed, everything is pretty much stepwise refinement however you dress it up.

There’s a terrible focus in the 21st century of cutting corners and making ‘quick wins’ and ‘failing fast’, of heading off and ‘course correcting’ as you go on. They’re just words, words to enable a parasitical class of practitioners and certifiers who’ve come to software engineering and tried to shoe horn in their eldritch horror, extract all cash, and leave us in smouldering ruins.

There are few short cuts, and they definitely aren’t signposted with coloured paper and stand-up meetings.
