I read somewhere that the cost of refitting the electrical grid, adding on scaled storage and the like is tremendously high in order to support the desired number of EVs in the future.

Perhaps retrofitting some cities to get away from the car based belief system might make sense in light of this, especially if EV adoption falls off at some point.

It's either that or autonomous vehicles!
