I think that yes indeed some people are being forced back, for whatever regressive reasons, but it is most definitely creating a lot of ill feeling - so much more than anything I've seen before and many people (especially software developers) are quitting and moving on to other, more trusting and respectful companies.

It is interesting to see that many office based jobs, and fully remote ones, have moved to hybrid and there doesn't seem to be a general trend back to a 100% office based situation - which is, at least, encouraging!

But, I do think that with more experienced candidates having a wider talent pool by allowing full remote work is something that many forward looking companies - those that don't trade on their names, or have no sense at all - won't roll back on.

I guess we'll see :)
