I think we often go too much one way in interviews (with technical ability) and then rely on some bizarre ‘culture fit’ screening process which is terribly bad at classifying people as company fits or no hires.

Ideally if we can get people talking in interviews as if they’re just interacting normally rather than in some kind of technical/culture beauty contest then things would be much better.
