I think we’ve just taken our collective eyes off the ball, forgotten how to run an efficient company, forgotten what really drives employees (low stress, proper wages, feeling of accomplishment), and gone crazy with bureaucracy.

You should really write up your experiences too, and anyone else who’s reading this do chip in as we don’t tend to air our dirty laundry often enough in the software industry.
