I think you have it, there’s a whole class of operations in a company that exist in the thing we call ‘management’ that’s become a self-perpetuating organisation in itself.

I’d say it’s ripe for ‘disruption’ but the connotations of that word have been properly proven (cost cutting, law avoiding, etc.), but anyway, perhaps now we have an opportunity to at least push for some changes now that at least some of the the management class has been exposed for the excess baggage it truly is.
