I used to love writing Perl scripts but all I get to do now to fill the gap is play with sed or awk, Perl needs to make a comeback! (my time with Perl was with version 5, I’ll have a look at version 6)

Totally agree, if you can’t wrestle with the esoteric then you have no place writing programs!
