Indeed, there is no way to reduce car usage fast enough to combat immediate issue with climate change - but we could at least begin to address the problem instead of repeatedly banging our collective heads against a wall.

There has to be a middle ground where we gradually adjust to lowering car ownership, and moving whatever car ownership is left to some kind of zero environment impact technology.

Short sighted policies, fawning at the altar of profit, and kicking tough decisions down the line all seem to reign supreme.
