Insightful observations!

In pretty much all of the AI generated text I'd read the tone seems almost devoid of any emotion, banal, lacking any kind of personality at all.

It's as if it's impossible for it to have an opinion and is always therefore attempting to give all sides of an argument using (as you rightly say) a predictable and monotonous sentence structure.
