I've always been in the '(project) managers should be technically qualified' camp in software engineering... if someone can't even setup and execute a decent video call what hope do they have of leading a software project?

I can excuse the senior managers most of the time, using a telephone is quite novel for the occupants of the hallowed oak panelled corridors of power!
