Culture fit is definitely a thing, so do try to choose a company you love first rather than one that likes your fit but you're ambivolent about.

Also, do try freelancing once you've some good practical experience under your belt - you can move around whenever you like, pick and choose your projects, and avoid most of the office politics that do tend to pollutet the industry.
