Sorry, I'm kind of half joking. What used to annoy me a lot about Java is it running on a JVM across a number of platforms - each of which ran (at the time) very slowly and consumed an inordinate amount of memory.

I just find it funny having JavaScript running in node, again inside something else (this kind essentially a browser) and it reminds me a lot of Java in the old days.

Let's not even talk about types...
