Sounds like we’ve had very similar experiences, especially with management and agile!

I think some of the best companies have a kind of ‘golden age’ where they do great work, have a flat structure, and just get stuff done. It’s just a simple change that tends to put the spanner in the works whether it’s, as you say, a falling out, or the introduction of some ‘trendy’ process, or even just employing someone who wants to upset an applecart that works just fine.
