Sounds lovely, unfortunately all I see in Western Europe are utility companies salivating at adding on the cost of grid upgrades to domestic tariffs.
Add to that solar PV panels, batteries, and suchlike are expensive and the vast majority of home owners (if they're in a house and not a flat, apartment, or rented room) can't either afford to fit them or are not allowed to fit them. Just like EVs, the early adopters have jumped in but everyone else? They're too expensive right now.
It's great to trumpet what's possible, in theory, but in practicality I see many, many problems.
Heat pumps especially are passing through the hype cycle and fast approaching the "oh, wait, they're noisy, expensive, and take up a lot of space" phase.
Governments push things, people have to live with them.
