It is really hard to sum up how to feel about the issue, I mean, I'm not 100% against tests where they're appropriate - but I don't feel they're appropriate in a lot of cases.
It's really surprised me how the issue has struck a chord amongst a lot of both software engineers and (hiring) managers.
My hope is that what will come out of it is a better feeling of when to conduct tests and if they're conducts to make sure they're appropriate to the qualifications and experience of the individual involved.
We'll all met the "talkers" and they're a big problem as they can (and do) talk themselves into wholly inappropriate roles!
I guess the length of the comments is proportional to the importance of the issue! :)
