The Glazed Doors Of Perception
Long term inmates forget there’s a world outside of corporate life.

I wrote recently about how easy it is to fall into the trap of becoming what I like to call a “Company Fixture” — someone who, for one reason or another, has been at a company for so long that they’ve completely lost the will, or more importantly the motivation, to leave.
I went through how it could happen and the various symptoms that someone who’s been unfortunate enough to fall into this circumstance will likely exhibit in the workplace.
Today we’re going to see what you can do to prevent this or, again if you’re one of the unfortunate ones, what you can do about it yourself now that you’ve lost your progressive mojo.
One of the things that bothers me the most about how people who become Company Fixtures isn’t that they’ve become comfortable and unnecessarily pliant, it’s that they’ve become accustomed to the various micro-aggressions that all companies effect upon their minions over time.
