Management are full of it, that’s for sure, but what exactly is it?

I think that we can all safely agree, most especially those of us that have spent any period of time in the Grand Game of Software Engineering, that management is definitely full of something.

Thing is, aside from the glaringly obvious¹, what exactly is it that management are full to the brim of?

To uncovered this fairly surprising result let’s take a look at some sample situations that regularly occur in the day to day life of a progressive developer.

Ticketing Issues

A key ticket on the current project’s critical path is taking longer than expected, most likely due to the inept allocation (or definition) of story points or even more likely some arbitrary decision of the project manager droid based upon promising the customer anything to appear helpful rather than considering what is practically possible in our spacetime.

The developers quickly talk over possible solutions before the daily waste of time, sorry, stand up meeting interrupts their progress and collectively decide to help each other refactor some code and reuse it to speed progress and get things back on track.
