The world isn't set up for it because it's not an optimum profit making strategy for the current mindset of corporate operations - they fail to see how technical efficiency can be improved with large remote talent pools and would rather have bums on seats, not understanding the potential, imho.

I'm not going to get over it though, as I believe that remote workers should be paid for the work they do and not where they do it - hence the article.
