Wise words, and extremely relatable.

I'm very invested in my work myself as software engineering is something I love to do - so spend a lot of out of hours time playing around with different things and it's so easy to let work creep into that with work mail on phones, getting involved in discussions, finishing off projects - as you rightly say.

Ultimately, it's just not worth it. If you have to sell your soul to get promoted by consistently working above and beyond then you're definitely in the wrong job with the wrong company who rewards wrong behaviour.

it's not just your mindset, the company is totally enabling this kind of behaviour and should take steps to minimise it.

Also, Skyrim - it's so hard not to be a Stealth / Archer!
