You know, when you encounter someone who’s a bit of a lifer at a company I do wonder if they’re really happy and have ‘settled’.

I can’t imagine settling — there’s something fundamental about computing, a never ending curiosity — whether it be observing the ineptness of project management, listening to the same old arguments against every new technology, or just the plain and simple love of solving new problems.

I think I have become the ‘grumpy old engineer’ for sure… and I like it.
